Os Dinosaur Jr. São, a par dos Sonic Youth ou os Butthole Surfers, uma das bandas sobreviventes da pujante e criativa cena do rock alternativa norte americano dos anos 80. Estiveram separados quase uma década entre 1997 e 2005, por desavenças pessoais, mas o gosto pelo rock e pela estrada falou mais alto e J Mascis, Lou Barlow e Murph superaram as divergências e em boa hora o fizeram. Em 2007 editaram o excelente "Beyond". Nos próximos dias vão editar o novo "Farm", mais um excelente disco de rock, que prova que nem sempre as reuniões de bandas desavindas têm apenas um objectivo comercial e que os Dinosaur Jr, permanecem fiéis à sua filição underground que sempre os caracterizou.
